US Payroll Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a large, multi-state workforce.

About the Role:

• Processing weekly, biweekly, or semimonthly payrolls in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Importing hours from time and production records to administer paychecks.
• Calculating gross pay, deductions, withholdings, and net pay using established procedures.
• Distributing payroll reports and checks to field offices.
• Auditing data exchanged between HRIS and payroll systems.
• Supporting periodic and annual payroll audits (e. g. , BLS, MWR, Workers Compensation).
• Ensuring timely processing of new hire and termination paperwork.
• Validating direct deposit setups, withholdings, and deductions.
• Coordinating with HR to resolve complex payroll issues.
• Assisting with special payrolls and reporting needs.
• Preparing general ledger entries and communicating payroll data to relevant units.
• Supporting payroll tax audits and managing areas such as unions, garnishments, taxes, and banking relationships.

About You:

• A high school diploma (bachelor s degree preferred).
• 4-7 years of professional payroll experience, including extensive W2 reconciliation.
• Proven experience handling payroll for 1, 000+ employees.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and union payroll processing.
• Proficiency in payroll systems; experience with cloud-based platforms like Oracle or Workday is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• A solid understanding of payroll regulations and audit processes.
• Attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently under supervision.
