US Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant (CPA) to join our client's boutique accounting firm. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with Big 4 public accounting experience and a strong background in financial accounting. The ideal candidate is someone who can independently manage accounting processes, take ownership of month-end close activities, prepare accurate financial reports, and provide high-quality support to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own the accurate and timely month-end close process for assigned clients.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with US accounting standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Support client accounting needs and address accounting issues as they arise.
• Maintain organized close trackers, reconciliations, and accounting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet client deliverables and deadlines.
• Provide responsive, professional, and high-quality client service.

About you

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Big 4 public accounting experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong financial accounting experience.
• Proven experience managing or supporting the month-end close process.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• US accounting experience preferred.
• Experience working with US-based clients preferred.
