What they need
Enjaz's GIS Department designs and operates map-centric products for two programmes. QiMAP is the geospatial platform we deliver for Qi Card / International Smart Card: a merchant-discovery mini-app that runs inside the SuperQi wallet (search, merchant cards, offers, directions), and an admin and executive analytics portal with transaction and user heatmaps used by decision-makers and analysts. Alongside it we deliver the Iraq Post /Ministry of Communications digital suite — public website, online shop, operations console, the Iraq MAP navigation PWA, and the Smart Warehouse system. Every product ships in Arabic (RTL) and English, on mobile screens first, and
is built on web technologies (MapLibre GL / Leaflet, vanilla JavaScript, Django templates).
We are hiring a UI/UX Designer to own the user experience of these products end to end — from research and flows through high-fidelity design and a shared design system, to hand-off and fidelity review with the engineers who
build them.
Key responsibilities
- Own the experience of the SuperQi mini-app: merchant discovery, search, result ranking presentation, merchant cards, offers, and directions — mobile-first, inside a wallet WebView, on 4G networks and mid-range Android devices.
- Design data-dense executive and analyst interfaces for the QiMAP admin portal — heatmaps, time-range and filter controls, entity search panels, location-history views, and tables — so that KPIs are understood at a glance and drill-downs stay self-explanatory.
- Design the Iraq Post / MOC journeys: website content and services, shop checkout and tracking, operationsconsole workflows, and handheld warehouse flows (intake, sort, dispatch).
- Build and maintain the department design system in Figma — tokens, components, iconography, map styling (pins, clusters, cards, states) — aligned with the Qi / SuperQi and Iraq Post brand guidelines.
- Design bilingual-first: Arabic RTL and English LTR as equal citizens — mirrored layouts, Arabic typography, numeral policy, date/currency (IQD) formatting, and string-length tolerance.
- Define every state, not only the happy path: loading, empty, error, slow-network and offline, permission-denied, and first-run/onboarding.
- Run lightweight research and usability tests with wallet users, merchants, and operations staff; turn findings into prioritised, evidence-backed design changes.
- Produce hand-off-ready specifications (redlines, component states, motion notes) and pair with frontend engineers during implementation; review DEV/UAT builds for visual and interaction fidelity before release.
- Uphold accessibility (WCAG AA): colour contrast, touch-target size, focus order, and screen-reader labels — including on map surfaces.
- Partner with the Product Owner and Scrum Master on discovery: journey maps, clickable prototypes for stakeholder and client demos, and acceptance criteria that carry the design intent.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years designing shipped web and mobile products, with a portfolio showing end-to-end work (research →flows → UI → hand-off) and measurable outcomes.
- Expert in Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping) and in building or maintaining a design system.
- Proven experience designing Arabic / RTL interfaces alongside English.
- Working understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive layout constraints; able to discuss feasibility with engineers and design within a WebView's limits.
- Experience running usability tests or user interviews and synthesising findings.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills; fluency in Arabic and strong working English (design files and specifications are in English).
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with maps and navigation products, or with fintech / digital-wallet and super-app (mini-app)ecosystems.
- Data-visualization and dashboard design for executive audiences.
- Motion and micro-interaction design; ability to prototype in HTML/CSS or a code-based tool.
- Familiarity with accessibility auditing tools and WCAG AA criteria.
- Experience working in Scrum teams with PR-based delivery and design QA on staging environments.
