Position summary:

This is a high-impact role for an experienced User Experience (UX) Designer with a passion for industrial business scenarios. You will collaborate closely with product managers and software engineers and work closely with customers to translate user needs and business goals into intuitive design solutions.

This position requires a hands-on understanding of UX design and user research, paired with the desire to digitally enable industrial users in the energy industry. It offers the opportunity to play a key role in the global energy transition by supporting electrical grid operators with an intuitive user experience tailored to their needs.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design and Collaboration

• Create user flows, mock-ups, wireframes and prototypes for web and mobile applications that align with user needs, business goals and product strategy

• Work with the existing design system and help to further grow it, in collaboration with design colleagues, product managers, and engineering

• Ensure designs meet usability, accessibility, and performance standards

• Advocate for user-centred design principles in teams

• Prepare design specifications and support engineers through implementation

• User Research

• Plan, conduct, and analyse user research (observations, usability tests, interviews, surveys) to gain in-depth user understanding and validate your design decisions

• Share research findings with product teams to inform design and priorities

Experience & Qualifications

• Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• 3+ years of experience in UX design for enterprise software products or mobile applications, ideally in the energy industry, electrical power utilities, or asset-intensive industries

• Proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade user experiences to a global market

• Experience in designing components for design systems and prototyping in Figma

• Comfortable working within empowered, cross-functional teams in lean agile software development

• Preferred:

• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, etc)

• Basic understanding of front-end development

• Familiarity with electrical power grid operations and maintenance is a plus

• Prior experience with a software vendor serving asset-intensive sectors (e.g. energy, utilities, infrastructure)
