Usher

Front of House Usher:

Seeking responsible, enthusiastic, and dependable part-time ushers to serve as the first point of contact for patrons attending Vivo Performing Arts performances. Under the direction of the Marketing Events Manager, the Front of House Ushers are expected to offer the highest level of customer service to all performance attendees, while ensuring their experience is safe and pleasurable.

Ushers are often required to stand for periods of up to 4 hours. Hours are limited and only available when there are events. Weeknights and weekends are required.

Duties include:

• Greeting patrons
• Serving as an ambassador for Vivo Performing Arts at the marketing table
• Distributing table materials and answering patron’s questions
• Staying up to date with current season performances and policies to patrons
• Scanning/verifying tickets at specific venues
• Directing/escorting patrons to their seats at specific venues
• Assisting patrons with accessibility needs with respect & care
• Reporting any ticket problems or seating issues quickly to the Marketing Events Manager
• Assisting with load in and break down of materials
• Other duties as assigned by the Marketing Events Manager

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service ethic; experience working with the public preferred
• Willingness and ability to travel to various venues, including multiple sites in Roxbury/Dorchester
• Positive and professional demeanor
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Committed to advancing equity efforts within the organization
