The Client

Datacenter People is partnering with a French architectural and engineering design consultancy, specialists in designing, building and operating for the built environment, including data centers.

What The Job Involves

• Define, maintain, and manage technical requirements related to:
• External utility networks and internal systems.
• Package boundaries and interface responsibilities.
• Translate the technical reference program into actionable project requirements.
• Validate utility connection assumptions, available capacities, and project phasing strategies.
• Ensure alignment with project objectives regarding performance, redundancy, constructability, and operability.
• Coordinate interfaces between utility providers, connection works, and internal project installations.
• Identify, track, and secure critical technical interfaces across the project.
• Clarify stakeholder responsibilities and eliminate ownership gaps.
• Integrate utility and network operator constraints into the overall design strategy.
• Support interface management with power, fiber, water, cooling, and other critical infrastructure networks.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and provide technical feedback.
• Ensure design deliverables achieve the required level of maturity at each project milestone.
• Identify design gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and issues requiring escalation or arbitration.
• Support resolution and closure of technical comments and review actions.
• Collaborate closely with other disciplines within the Technical & Design Integration team.
• Contribute to coherent technical inputs supporting permitting, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure utility and interface considerations are fully integrated into the wider project strategy and delivery approach.
• Identify and anticipate risks related to:
• Utility connections.
• Network capacities.
• Interface management.
• Connection schedules and dependencies.
• Escalate potential project blockers early.
• Develop robust and structured technical solutions.
• Support mitigation of cost and schedule impacts related to utilities, interfaces, and design development.

We Are Looking For Someone With

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Services, Infrastructure, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure, energy, industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects.
• Experience working within complex, multi-stakeholder, multi-package, and phased project environments.
• Strong knowledge of utility connections and external network coordination, including:
• TSOs/DSOs (e.g., RTE, ENEDIS)
• Fiber and telecommunications networks
• Utility providers and infrastructure operators
• Experience collaborating with design consultants, EPCM teams, OEMs, utility companies, and project stakeholders.
• Strong coordination, interface management, and technical structuring capabilities.
• High level of rigor in documentation management and design review processes.
• Ability to secure critical interfaces and clearly define responsibility boundaries within EPCM environments.
• Proven capability to reduce cost and schedule risks associated with design and utility integration.
• Fluent French and professional-level English, both written and spoken.
