Utilities Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Utilities Manager to lead our facilities maintenance operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of the refigeration, boiler, and waste water teams throughout the facility. As a Utilities Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining optimal facility performance, managing complex systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that support our operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams responsible for Anhydrous Ammonia refrigerant (refrigeration team), boilers, and waste water teams.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to ensure timely repairs and system reliability.
• Work closely with EHS and the PSM Supervisor to ensure compliance with the NH3 system.
• Ensure all teams complete annual required trainings which may include offsite training and education to develop their skillset.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose issues and execute effective repair procedures.
• Manage projects related to facilities upgrades or system improvements, coordinating with engineering and project teams and contractors to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Enforce safety regulations across all maintenance activities, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions for team members.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety compliance using CMMS software.
• Ensure all facilities meet industry standards for waste water and refrigeration.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, leadership, and continuous learning within the facilities management department.

Requirements

• At least 3 - 5 years utilities experience, preferably with a refrigeration background.
• Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance or industrial maintenance teams within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in refrigeration, waste water or boiler mechanics.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to industrial facilities and experience implementing safety protocols effectively.
• Experience managing projects from planning through execution with excellent organizational skills in project management.
• Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams; experience with voltmeters and ohmmeters is essential.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team management, supervising experience in managing facilities maintenance teams or similar roles.
• Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate across departments effectively.
• Knowledge of CMMS software for work order management and record keeping is preferred.
