Utilities Operator

The Antrim Water & Sewer Department is accepting applications for a full-time Utilities Operator. This position involves both skilled and unskilled work in the operation and maintenance of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant, equipment, facilities, and collection systems. The Employee will work under the supervision of the Utilities Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plant systems and equipment
• Perform manual labor and semi-skilled work related to the maintenance, repair, construction, and installation of water systems, including pipelines, valves, fire hydrants, pumps, meters, and service lines
• Assist with inspections, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs
• Work independently and follow oral and written instructions
• Participate in rotating weekend rounds and respond to emergencies outside normal working hours
• Willingness to learn computer systems and ArcGIS mapping software
• Overtime is a Requirement

Minimum Requirements

• Valid New Hampshire Driver’s License
• Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• The successful candidate must pass a pre employment drug and alcohol screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• New Hampshire Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Grade II Certification, or Grade I with the ability to obtain Grade II
• Water Works Operator Certification — Distribution and Treatment Grade I, or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe

Compensation & Benefits

The Antrim Water & Sewer Department offers competitive pay and excellent benefits. Starting range for the position is 27.53 to 29.87 per hour. The Town of Antrim is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
