About the Project

Givanas Group is executing a new 3.5 Ton/hr Margarine Manufacturing Plant project in Ibadan, Nigeria, covering engineering, procurement, construction, equipment installation, commissioning, start-up and final handover.

The project requires the integration and commissioning of key process utilities supporting margarine production and packaging operations.

Job Purpose

The Utility Engineer will manage engineering coordination, installation, testing, commissioning and performance verification of all utility systems required for the Margarine Manufacturing Plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project utility requirements and utility balance calculations.
• Coordinate utility loads for margarine processing and packaging equipment.
• Supervise installation and commissioning of boilers and steam systems.
• Supervise RO Water Plant and Soft Water Plant installation.
• Supervise air compressor and compressed-air systems.
• Supervise nitrogen generator installation.
• Supervise cooling tower and cooling-water systems.
• Coordinate chilled-water and refrigeration systems where applicable.
• Supervise utility piping installation.
• Review utility P&IDs, layouts, specifications and equipment documentation.
• Coordinate utility vendors and contractors.
• Monitor equipment installation, alignment, testing and commissioning.
• Conduct utility performance tests.
• Verify utility consumption and operating parameters.
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning and plant start-up.
• Coordinate operator and maintenance-team training.
• Ensure preparation of utility O&M manuals and as-built drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Utility Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 years' industrial utility project experience.
• 10–12 years' experience preferred.
• Experience within food processing, edible oil, dairy, beverage or FMCG projects will be an advantage.
