Utility Services Machine Operative

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Utility Services Dig Team Member to join our dynamic team on a self-employed basis, working on electrical utility civils projects across across North and North East Lincolnshire.

You will be responsible for carrying out excavation and groundworks safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The successful candidate will have practical experience in utility works, be confident working on site and take pride in completing work to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery such as excavators and other utility service equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use CAT & Genny and mechanical devices to assist with installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and tools to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
• Support site preparation activities including trenching, digging, backfilling, and material handling using appropriate machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety checks.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Experience

• 360 Excavator qualification/ticket
• SWQR Streetworks certificate
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Previous experience in utility civils, excavation or similar works
• Good understanding of safe digging practices
• Reliable, professional and safe approach
• Strong understanding of safety standards within construction or utility environments.
