Utility Surveyor

This is a hands-on field role focused on accurately locating, tracing and recording underground services using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), electromagnetic locating equipment (EML) and other survey technology.

The Role

• Locate and map underground utilities and services
• Use GPR and EML equipment
• Establish the location, depth and alignment of underground infrastructure
• Interpret service plans and utility information
• Collect, process and accurately record field data
• Work across a range of infrastructure and secure sites

About You We are looking for someone with:

• 1+ years’ utility locating / utility surveying experience
• Hands-on experience using GPR and EML
• A good understanding of underground services and infrastructure
• Strong Health & Safety awareness
• A practical approach and ability to work independently
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A full NZ driver licence
• Flexibility to work some night shifts when projects require it

Experience with GPR data processing, utility mapping, GIS, BeforeUDig, potholing/service proving or civil surveying would be advantageous.
You will also need to be able to meet security and access requirements for work on controlled infrastructure sites.
