Job Description

Utility Worker to perform general cleaning and maintenance duties at our premises. As a Utility Worker, you will be responsible for cleaning assigned areas inside and outside of the property, repairing, safekeeping of maintenance tools, and inspecting utility projects. You will also be required to maintain stock levels, inventory and comply with state health and safety regulations.

As a Utility Worker, should be a jack-of-all-trades who is able to clean, fix lights, repair equipment, and maintain a safe working area.

As part of your side-duties you will also be doing the messenger duties like (Transmittal of documents, deposit, withdrawals from banks and collect cheques from clients.

Utility Worker Responsibilities:

• Taking verbal and written instructions from company Managers and Co-employees.
• Cleaning assigned work areas inside and outside of the property.
• Make an Inventory of Cleaning Supplies on a monthly basis, maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Replacing light fittings and broken globes.
• Ensuring the safe handling and storage of volatile cleaning liquids.
• Messenger duties.
• Thorough cleaning of office before and after work must be done before entering and leaving the office.
• Ensuring that utility projects have been completed before signing off.

Qualifications:

·         At least 2nd Year College

·         Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly.

·         Knowledge of precautions necessary for ensuring a safe work environment for self and co-workers.

·         Deep knowledge of basic preventative and general maintenance activities.

·         Ability to recognize hazards and take measures to avoid them. Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the teams.
