What they need
Push the boundaries of Ultra-Wideband technology.
Your Mission
At Lateration, we believe that Ultra-Wideband technology has far more potential than what is being achieved with conventional implementations today.
We develop advanced UWB systems that combine RF engineering, signal processing, and a deep understanding of electromagnetic wave propagation. Our goal is to turn complex physical challenges into robust, high-performance technology that works beyond controlled laboratory environments.
We are looking for exceptional engineers and researchers who understand UWB at its fundamental level and are driven by the question: What else can we make possible?
You won't simply integrate existing solutions or optimize predefined designs. You will challenge assumptions, explore new approaches, and help shape the technological foundation of our next-generation systems.
We value technical curiosity, independent thinking, and the ability to turn ambitious ideas into working hardware.
Your Responsibilities
Advanced UWB System Development
Design, develop, and optimize UWB systems at the intersection of RF hardware, signal processing, and embedded technology. Explore the physical and technical limits of UWB and develop innovative approaches to overcome them.
RF Physics & Signal Processing
Investigate complex signal behavior, including phase characteristics, multipath propagation, interference, timing, and channel effects. Develop algorithms and techniques that improve system performance, precision, range, and robustness.
Precision Measurement & Algorithm Development
Develop and validate advanced ranging, positioning, calibration, and signal-processing methods. Combine mathematical models, simulations, and real-world measurements to understand and improve system behavior.
Hardware Development & Experimental Validation
Bring new RF boards and modules into operation. Analyze signal integrity, antenna effects, timing behavior, and hardware limitations using professional measurement equipment. Turn theoretical insights into measurable improvements.
Technical Innovation & Ownership
Take responsibility for challenging technical problems from initial investigation through experimental validation. Question established approaches, develop new concepts, and contribute directly to our long-term technology development.
Collaboration Across Disciplines
Work closely with experts in RF engineering, embedded systems, firmware, and algorithms. Share knowledge, challenge ideas constructively, and help build a team that values technical excellence over hierarchy.
Your First 5 Months — What You'll Be Proud to Have Achieved
- You have gained a deep understanding of our UWB technology and identified opportunities to push its performance beyond existing capabilities.
- You have independently developed, implemented, or validated at least one meaningful RF or signal-processing improvement with measurable results.
- You have tackled a challenging real-world signal or hardware problem and demonstrated a working solution.
- You have contributed new ideas, experimental methods, or technical approaches that influence our future development.
- You have become a trusted technical contributor whose expertise helps shape our UWB technology.
What You Bring
Deep Technical Understanding
You have substantial experience in UWB, RF engineering, wireless communication, radar, or advanced signal processing. More importantly, you understand the underlying physics and can reason from first principles rather than relying exclusively on existing implementations.
Signal Processing & Algorithms
You have experience with topics such as phase measurements, time-of-flight estimation, channel estimation, multipath mitigation, synchronization, calibration, or high-precision positioning.
Practical Engineering Skills
You are comfortable working with real hardware, conducting experiments, interpreting measurement data, and using equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers.
Independent Thinking
You are not satisfied with the answer "that's how it has always been done." You enjoy investigating difficult problems, questioning assumptions, and developing solutions that others may not have considered.
Hands-on Mindset
You can move between theory, simulation, code, and hardware. You enjoy seeing your ideas work in practice and understand the difference between a promising simulation and a robust real-world system.
Ownership & Curiosity
You take initiative, work independently, and are motivated by technical challenges. You care about the quality of your work and are willing to go deep when a problem demands it.
Nice to Have
- Experience with UWB chipsets and low-level RF or firmware development
- Knowledge of PHY-layer architectures, baseband processing, or digital signal processing
- Experience with basic antenna design or RF front ends
- Experience developing novel algorithms or experimental RF systems
- Research experience, scientific publications, or patents in relevant technical fields
Why Lateration?
Work on problems that matter technically.
We are not looking for engineers to simply maintain existing technology. We are building advanced systems where fundamental understanding of RF physics and signal processing makes a real difference.
Freedom to explore.
Good ideas don't depend on job titles. We encourage experimentation, independent thinking, and the courage to challenge conventional approaches.
From theory to reality.
Our development environment brings together research, hardware, software, and real-world testing. You will see the results of your work in actual systems, not just papers or presentations.
Direct technical impact.
You will work with a team where technical decisions are made close to the people who understand the technology. Your expertise and ideas will directly influence what we build next.
If you have ever looked at an existing UWB system and thought, "There must be a better way to do this," we would like to meet you.
We are particularly interested in people who enjoy solving problems that don't yet have established answers.
Other offers great for you!
