VACANCY: NIGHT SHIFT LOGISTICS CONTROLLER

Ubuntu Logistics & Transportation is looking for a reliable and experienced Logistics Controller to oversee our long-haul transport operations during the night shift.

WORKING HOURS:
Night Shift: 19:00 – 07:00
Every alternate weekend

Key Responsibilities:

• Take over operations from the day-shift controller at 19:00 and ensure a proper handover.
• Monitor and oversee drivers transporting loads throughout the night.
• Track trucks and loads and ensure drivers remain on schedule.
• Maintain regular communication with drivers throughout the shift.
• Handle breakdowns, delays, route problems and other operational issues that arise during the shift.
• Escalate serious incidents or emergencies to management when necessary.
• Keep accurate records of incidents, breakdowns, delays and important driver communication.
• Provide a complete handover to the day-shift controller at 07:00.
• Remain available and responsive for the full duration of the shift.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Logistics/Fleet Controller is essential.
• Experience with long-haul trucks and superlink operations will be an advantage.
• Must have your own working laptop and reliable internet connection.
• Must have a reliable cellphone and be contactable throughout the shift.
• Must be comfortable working 19:00 to 07:00 and every alternate weekend.
• Must be able to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be responsible, reliable and punctual.
• Contactable references are required.

This position requires someone who can take full responsibility for night operations and ensure that drivers, trucks and loads are properly monitored until the day shift takes over.
