What they need

Job Requirements

At Quest Global, it’s not just what we do but how and why we do it that makes us different. With over 25 years as an engineering services provider, we believe in the power of doing things differently to make the impossible possible. Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.

We are seeking a highly experienced Director-level ASIC Pre-Silicon Validation Competency Engineer to lead validation strategy, technical execution, and turnkey project delivery for ASIC programs. This role blends deep hands-on pre-silicon validation expertise with people leadership and project ownership.

The ideal candidate will build and scale validation competency across the ASIC organization while actively leading complex projects from requirements definition through validation closure. This is a highly technical leadership role for someone who can operate at both the strategic and execution levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the pre-silicon validation competency for ASIC development programs.
  • Define and drive validation strategy, methodologies, best practices, and quality standards.
  • Own and execute turnkey projects from planning through validation closure.
  • Develop validation plans, test architectures, coverage goals, and signoff criteria.
  • Work closely with design, verification, architecture, firmware, and program management teams.
  • Review requirements, architecture, microarchitecture, and validation readiness from a pre-silicon perspective.
  • Drive testbench strategy, validation planning, stimulus definition, and bug closure.
  • Identify validation gaps, risks, and coverage deficiencies early in the development cycle.
  • Support simulation, emulation, FPGA prototyping, and other pre-silicon validation environments as needed.
  • Mentor engineers and establish repeatable processes to improve validation quality and efficiency.
  • Lead technical debug, root-cause analysis, and issue escalation across functional teams.
  • Present progress, risks, and technical recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

We are known for our extraordinary people who make the impossible possible every day. Questians are driven by hunger, humility, and aspiration. We believe that our company culture is the key to our ability to make a true difference in every industry we reach. Our teams regularly invest time and dedicated effort into internal culture work, ensuring that all voices are heard.

We wholeheartedly believe in the diversity of thought that comes with fostering a culture rooted in respect, where everyone belongs, is valued, and feels inspired to share their ideas. We know embracing our unique differences makes us better, and that solving the worlds hardest engineering problems requires diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds. We shine the brightest when we tap into the many dimensions that thrive across over 21,000 difference-makers in our workplace.

Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 18+ years of experience in ASIC, semiconductor, pre-silicon validation, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience in pre-silicon validation, verification, or system-level validation.
  • Proven ability to lead validation competency and deliver turnkey projects end-to-end.
  • Deep understanding of ASIC development flow, including requirements, architecture, RTL, verification, and signoff.
  • Experience with simulation, emulation, FPGA-based validation, and debug methodologies.
  • Strong technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional semiconductor environments.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with complex SoCs or ASICs in areas such as networking, compute, storage, automotive, or AI/ML.
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, and validation infrastructure.
  • Experience building validation frameworks, methodologies, or competency centers.
  • Prior leadership of engineers in a highly technical, hands-on environment.
