Valve Service Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Valve Service Engineer to carry out onshore and offshore valve servicing, plant turnaround maintenance, and control valve/actuator calibration. In this role, you will perform hands-on inspection, troubleshooting, overhaul, and testing of industrial valves, guide site technicians, and support technical scoping and tender preparation for major energy clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspection, diagnostic troubleshooting, servicing, overhaul, and testing for manual, actuated, control, choke, and pressure safety valves
• Calibrate, repair, and service motorized and pneumatic actuators (e.g., Rotork, Biffi) as well as control valve positioners (such as Flowserve Logix 3200MD+)
• Lead and supervise small teams of technicians and sub-contractors during workshop servicing and field deployment at customer facilities
• Conduct site surveys and work scoping at onshore refineries and offshore platforms to assist in preparing technical quotations and tenders according to client specifications
• Participate actively in plant turnaround campaigns (e.g., PETRONAS facilities, RAPID) and offshore hook-up & commissioning projects
• Handle specialized valve assemblies, including choke manifolds, top-entry ball valves, thru-conduit gate valves, and strainers/filters
• Ensure all servicing procedures, pressure tests, and maintenance reports strictly follow industry codes and client quality standards

About you

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in valve overhaul, actuator calibration, and field maintenance within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry
• Solid working knowledge of key industry standards, including API 6D, API 598, ASME B16.36, and ASME B16.10
• Ability to read, interpret, and draft technical engineering drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MasterCAM, and MS Project
• Valid certifications including T-BOSET, OGSP/NIOSH), NIOSH Tenaga Safety Pass, and CIDB
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to onshore plant sites and offshore platforms
