About Us
Vanlife Conversions is a fast-growing, veteran-owned company specialising in bespoke, high-end campervan conversions. Inspired by modern luxury homes, our vans combine craftsmanship, advanced technology, and innovative design to redefine life on the road. We’re passionate about creating unique, client-focused solutions that allow people to travel in comfort and style.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Van Converter to join our dedicated and passionate team. The ideal candidate is motivated, resourceful, and excited to contribute to the growth of the company. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in the entire van conversion process, from planning to execution, working alongside a team that values quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks in the van conversion process, including insulating, carpentry, plumbing, electrics and general assembly.
- Work closely with our design team to bring bespoke client specifications to life.
- Use problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges and deliver high-quality results.
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace and adhere to safety standards.
- Collaborate with the team to improve processes, streamline workflows, and drive company growth.
- Contribute to the development of innovative designs and solutions for unique client requests.
- Uphold our commitment to craftsmanship and excellence in every project.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in a practical trade or workshop environment (experience in the automotive/leisure vehicle industry is a bonus but not required).
- Strong understanding and competence of general building tools and machinery
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for high-quality craftsmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively under pressure.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Eager to learn, adapt, and contribute to the company’s growth.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management.
- Positive attitude
You’ll fit well here if you:
- Take pride in doing a job properly: you check your work, including the details that won’t be visible once the van is finished.
- Take responsibility: if something goes wrong, you flag it early, help resolve it and learn from it.
- Respond well to feedback: you listen, ask questions and apply what you’ve learned.
- Show initiative and sound judgement: you spot what needs doing and know when to ask for guidance.
- Follow through: colleagues can rely on you to complete agreed tasks and communicate if something is holding you up.
- Contribute to the team: you share information, help others and treat colleagues with respect.
- Enjoy learning: you’re interested in developing practical skills and becoming more capable over time.
