WRS Motaquip in Shepton Mallet is looking for a reliable and flexible Full-Time Van Delivery Driver As a result of increased demand and continued business growth, we are seeking a full-time driver to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting our day-to-day operations, ensuring we meet customer demand while maintaining the high standards of service our customers expect.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Friday
• 08:00 – 17:00

Job Purpose

To deliver products efficiently and safely, maintain the company van, support sales activity, and provide a high level of customer service while covering staff absences as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the van for operation by:
• Inspecting general condition
• Checking fluid levels and tyre pressure
• Ensuring compliance with road safety standards
• Reporting or arranging required repairs
• Load and unload the van by ordering, placing, and securing items correctly.
• Deliver items by:
• Identifying delivery destinations
• Planning effective routes
• Operating the van safely
• Maintaining delivery schedules
• Obtaining receipt acknowledgements
• Support sales and customer relationships by:
• Reviewing standing orders
• Analysing sales patterns
• Recommending new or alternative products
• Taking and placing customer orders
• Calling on potential customers
• Serve customers professionally by resolving issues or escalating complaints where necessary.
• Process payments including cash, cheques, and card transactions.
• Maintain van efficiency and appearance by:
• Completing routine preventative maintenance checks
• Reporting faults promptly
• Cleaning the interior and exterior of the vehicle
• Maintain accurate delivery, vehicle, and driving records at all times.

Essential Requirements

• Full, valid UK driving licence
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
