What they need

We’re looking for a reliable, practical person to join our small team. This is a hands-on role combining van deliveries with warehouse duties. Applicants must be comfortable with regular physical work as well as driving.

Delivery Responsibilities

  • Deliver orders to customers, mainly across Essex, London and Kent.
  • Pick, check and help load orders, ensuring products and quantities match the delivery notes.
  • Check goods for damage before departure and secure loads safely.
  • Unload at customer premises using suitable handling equipment and following site instructions.
  • Deliver products in containers, drums and IBCs, using appropriate equipment for heavier items.
  • Collect empty drums, IBCs and returnable containers when instructed, recording what is collected.
  • Obtain customer names and signatures, and take delivery photographs where required.
  • Prepare accurate delivery notes and return completed paperwork each day.
  • Organise daily deliveries with the team and keep the office informed of delays.
  • Report shortages, damage, leaks, failed deliveries or customer issues promptly.
  • Be polite, helpful and professional when representing the business.

Warehouse and Vehicle Responsibilities

  • Help pick and prepare orders, organise stock and receive incoming deliveries.
  • Keep the warehouse and loading areas clean, tidy and safe.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects or damage promptly.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean inside and out.
  • Follow training on safe lifting, chemical handling, spill procedures and use of PPE.
  • Help with reasonable duties needed to keep orders and deliveries running smoothly.

Important to Know

This is a combined delivery and warehouse role. When deliveries are finished, you will be expected to assist in the warehouse until the end of your shift.

The work involves regular loading, unloading and handling heavy containers. Safe handling procedures and the equipment provided must be used at all times.

You must be punctual, ready to start work at 9am, able to follow instructions and comfortable taking responsibility for your work.

What We’re Looking For

  • A valid UK driving licence suitable for the company vehicle and a good driving record.
  • A reliable and punctual person with a professional attitude.
  • Someone comfortable with physical work and handling heavy containers safely.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to complete accurate paperwork and check orders carefully.
  • Confidence using a phone for navigation, delivery photographs and communication with the office.
  • Someone who can work independently and help colleagues within a small team.

Previous van-driving or warehouse experience would be useful.

Training and Induction

Your induction will cover vehicle checks, checking and securing loads, safe unloading, handling equipment, chemical handling, spill procedures and delivery paperwork.

You will be shown how to record proof of delivery and who to contact if a problem occurs. Before making deliveries alone, you will be expected to demonstrate that you can follow these procedures safely and accurately.

What We Offer

  • £14 per hour.
  • Regular weekday hours with no weekend work.
  • A varied role within an established family business.
  • Training on our products, delivery procedures and safe handling.
