Van Driver

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Collect and transport parcels from the warehouse or distribution center for delivery using a company van.

• Deliver parcels to customers according to assigned routes, delivery schedules, and service standards.

• Load and unload parcels from the van in an organized and secure manner to prevent damage and ensure efficient deliveries.

• Verify recipient information, obtain signatures or digital confirmation as proof of delivery.

• Ensure accurate documentation for completed and pending deliveries, including any returns or undelivered items.

• Follow route plans using GPS or navigation apps to ensure on-time delivery and efficient fuel usage.

• Handle fragile, bulky, or high-value items with care and in accordance with company handling procedures.

• Report any incidents, delays, or delivery issues (e.g., customer not available, incorrect address, traffic accidents) to the dispatcher promptly.

• Perform daily vehicle checks (fuel, tire pressure, lights, brakes, cleanliness) and report any maintenance concerns.

• Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.

• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers during all delivery interactions.

• Support warehouse activities when required, such as loading, sorting, or parcel scanning.

Key Qualifications / Requirements:

• Experience in courier or logistics operations, particularly van deliveries, is an advantage.

• Valid Professional driver’s license appropriate to the delivery vehicle (motorcycle, tricycle, etc.).

• Familiarity with navigation tools (GPS, route apps) and ability to follow route plans efficiently.

• Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and loading parcels throughout the shift.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to timely, accurate deliveries.

• Customer-oriented mindset with good communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple delivery stops efficiently.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
