We are currently looking for a dynamic, adaptable Floater Link Driver to join our busy transport team.

The Role

Are you an experienced driver looking for a varied role where no two days are the same? We are seeking a versatile Floater Driver to act as a vital link between Cleveland Cable Company and Superlec.

Based out of Middlesbrough, you will seamlessly switch between driving commercial vans and operating HGV Class 2 rigid vehicles. You will be responsible for trunking and transporting goods safely and efficiently between our sites, keeping our supply chain moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Link Driving: Transporting goods smoothly and securely between Cleveland Cable Company and Superlec locations.
• Mixed Fleet Operation: Operating both commercial vans and HGV Class 2 vehicles depending on daily operational demands.
• Floater Flexibility: Stepping in across various driving duties, routes, and schedules to cover network requirements.
• Vehicle Safety Checks: Conducting thorough pre- and post-use walkaround checks, ensuring vehicle cleanliness, and managing basic refuelling.
• Compliance: Strictly adhering to UK driving hours regulations, the Working Time Directive, and health & safety procedures.
• Customer Service: Representing both companies professionally when interacting with colleagues across different depots.

What We Are Looking For

• Licence: Valid UK Category C (HGV Class 2) licence and a full, clean UK driving licence (for van operation).
• Certifications: A valid Driver CPC qualification and a Digital Tachograph card are essential.
• Experience: Proven commercial driving experience, ideally with a background in multi-drop or trunking routes.
• Flexibility: A "floater" mindset—adaptable, reliable, and willing to take on varied tasks as the business requires.
• Work Ethic: Capable of working independently, managing your time efficiently, and handling the physical demands of the role.
