TITLE: YDP/Van Driver

REPORTS TO: Unit Executive Director

EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time

PAY: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The YDP/Van Driver serves a dual role supporting youth development and transportation services. This position is responsible for safely transporting youth members to and from school, the clubhouse, and Club-sponsored events, while also assisting in the supervision, organization, and implementation of after school and out-of-school programming. This role will not exceed 29.5 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

TransportationSafety Duties:

• Safely operates 12-passenger vehicles in accordance with schedules and routes.
• Ensures safety of passengers and compliance with traffic laws and Club policies.
• Maintains order and proper discipline of youth.
• Conducts daily vehicle safety inspections and ensures vehicles are clean and stocked with safety equipment.
• Logs mileage, fuel usage, and passenger attendance.
• Reports incidents or mechanical issues promptly.

Youth DevelopmentProgram Duties:

• Supervises groups of 10–20 youth.
• Facilitates age-appropriate academic, recreational, STEM, arts, and physical activities.
• Promotes positive behavior, teamwork, and emotional safety.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Minimum age 21 for driving duties
• Valid CT public passenger endorsement and valid license for a minimum of 3 years
• Clean driving record and background check
• Experience working with youth preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• CPR/AED/First Aid certified

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Light to moderate physical activity
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
