VAN/LORRY DRIVER CUM STOREKEEPER

About the role

MODERNLITE ELECTRICAL SDN BHD is seeking a Van/Lorry Driver cum Storekeeper to join our operations team in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. This is a full-time position that combines driving responsibilities with storekeeping duties, playing a vital role in ensuring the efficient delivery and management of our electrical products and materials. You will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations whilst maintaining accurate inventory records and warehouse organisation. This role is essential to our day-to-day operations and directly impacts our ability to serve our customers effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining van/lorry vehicles in accordance with all safety regulations and company policies
• Delivering electrical materials and products to customers and job sites within designated areas
• Ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods, maintaining vehicle condition and conducting routine maintenance checks
• Receiving, inspecting and recording incoming inventory and materials into the warehouse system
• Organising and maintaining stock levels, ensuring proper storage and identification of all items in the warehouse
• Preparing and packing orders for delivery, verifying accuracy against delivery notes and purchase orders
• Maintaining detailed and accurate records of inventory, stock movements and warehouse transactions
• Performing stock counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy
• Reporting any discrepancies, damaged goods or stock shortages to management promptly
• Assisting with purchaser and maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Liaising with customers and internal staff to ensure smooth delivery and collection processes

What we're looking for

• Valid driving Class D license for van/lorry operation and a clean driving record
• Vocational License GDL could be provided from company.
• Previous experience in storekeeping, warehouse management or inventory control
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems and basic computer skills
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and customers
• Knowledge of health and safety practices in warehouse and transportation environments
• Ability to work independently and take initiative when required
