Varsity Assistant Soccer Coach

Highland Prep is seeking applicants for the position of Varsity Assistant Soccer Coach. This position would require regular attendance at practices after school as well as scheduled games and tournaments, which may require team travel via bus/van. This position offers a stipend. This position will be active from October 2026 - December 2026.

Position: ​Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach

Salary: ​​$1,500 stipend paid at end of season and meeting all coaching obligations. $1,000 signing bonus paid two weeks after holding regular practices and coaching first home game. Additional $250 bonus paid for each round of post season play team qualifies for to compensate for additional coaching time

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging training sessions that enhance players' skills and understanding of soccer.
• Conduct regular practices, focusing on individual skill development and team strategies.
• Educate players on the rules of the game, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
• Monitor players' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
• Organize and participate in games, tournaments, and other events.
• Ensure a safe playing environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and other coaches regarding schedules, expectations, and player development.
• Foster a positive team culture that encourages participation, respect, and enjoyment of the sport.

Skills

• Strong background in sports coaching, particularly in soccer.
• Experience in childcare or working with youth is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of various sports including basketball or martial arts is a plus.
• Ability to educate young athletes effectively while maintaining enthusiasm for the sport.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with players, parents, and staff.
• Strong organizational skills to manage practice schedules and game logistics.
• A positive attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.

Arizona Driver’s License

DPS – IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Experience:

Arizona Teaching Certificate (Preferred)
