Intercollegiate and Club Sports Coaches

Bethesda University | Anaheim, California

Job Type: Part-Time / Coaching Opportunity
Department: Athletics
Location: Anaheim, CA

About Bethesda University

Bethesda University is seeking passionate, motivated, and student-focused coaches to join our growing athletics program. We are expanding opportunities for student-athletes through intercollegiate and club sports and are looking for coaches who can build competitive teams, recruit talented student-athletes, and contribute to the growth of university athletics.

We welcome candidates with experience in established sports as well as individuals who have the vision and recruiting ability to develop new sports programs.

Current Coaching Opportunities

We are actively seeking coaches for the following sports:

  • Volleyball
  • Flag Football
  • Track and Field
  • Other sports proposed by qualified candidates

Have an idea for a new sport? We encourage applicants to propose additional sports programs. Bethesda University is open to launching a new intercollegiate or club sports program when a qualified coach can demonstrate the ability to recruit at least 20 prospective student-athletes for the proposed team, subject to university approval and program feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and develop a roster of qualified prospective student-athletes.
  • Organize and lead practices, training sessions, and team activities.
  • Develop a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, integrity, and academic success.
  • Plan and coordinate competitions, schedules, and team participation.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, university administrators, and athletics staff.
  • Support student-athlete retention, development, and engagement.
  • Follow university policies, applicable athletic association regulations, and student-athlete eligibility requirements.
  • Help establish and grow new sports programs when approved by the university.

Qualifications

  • Experience playing, coaching, or training in the sport being proposed.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify, recruit, and develop prospective student-athletes.
  • A commitment to student development, academic progress, and sportsmanship.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the university's athletics department.

Previous collegiate coaching experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong coaching experience, community connections, and demonstrated recruiting potential are encouraged to apply.

Recruiting and Program Development

Recruiting is an important component of this opportunity. Candidates should be prepared to explain their recruiting network, outreach strategy, and ability to build a competitive roster.

For applicants proposing a new sport, the ability to identify and recruit at least 20 prospective student-athletes will be a key consideration in determining whether the university moves forward with establishing the program.

Compensation and Employment

Compensation, coaching assignments, work schedules, and employment arrangements will be discussed with qualified candidates based on experience, responsibilities, recruiting potential, and the needs of the athletics program.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit a resume and a brief introduction outlining:

  • The sport they are interested in coaching.
  • Their coaching and playing experience.
  • Their recruiting network and estimated number of prospective student-athletes they can bring to the program.
  • Their vision for developing a successful team at Bethesda University.

Candidates proposing a new sport should include a preliminary roster-development plan and an explanation of the potential for long-term program growth.

Bethesda University welcomes coaches who are ready to make an impact, develop student-athletes, and help expand opportunities through college sports.

Join us in building the next generation of Bethesda University athletics!
