Vascular Sonographer – Full-Time or Part-Time

Vascular Health Group is seeking an experienced sonographer to join our specialist vascular practice in Hawthorn East.

This is a quality-focused vascular role, with appropriate time allocated for comprehensive examinations rather than a high-volume scanning model.

You will join an experienced sonographer who has been with our practice for approximately 15 years. Another senior sonographer recently left after 17 years with the practice, reflecting the stability and longevity of our imaging team.

The role

You will work closely with two senior procedural doctors – an experienced vascular surgeon and a senior, well-established phlebologist – with a mix of diagnostic vascular ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedural work.

The role may include:

• Venous and arterial duplex ultrasound
• Venous insufficiency assessment and mapping
• DVT assessment and post-treatment surveillance
• Ultrasound-guided vascular procedures and venous interventions
• Direct collaboration with the treating doctors
• Dedicated vascular training and mentoring
• Progressive development of advanced vascular and procedural skills

We welcome applications from both experienced vascular sonographers and accomplished general sonographers who would like to develop specialist vascular expertise.

For those requiring further vascular training, a structured training pathway will be provided alongside our experienced sonographer and doctors, with increasing independence as competency develops.

Essential requirements

• Current ASAR accreditation as an Accredited Medical Sonographer
• Recognised postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound/sonography
• Demonstrated clinical sonography experience
• Australian working rights
• Appropriate professional indemnity coverage or eligibility for coverage under our practice arrangements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality patient care
• Ability to work independently once competency in our vascular protocols has been demonstrated

Previous vascular experience, particularly venous duplex, insufficiency mapping, arterial duplex and ultrasound-guided procedures, will be highly regarded but is not essential for an experienced sonographer with the aptitude and motivation to develop these skills.
