About the Employer Brand

At Goode Company, food is how we tell the story of Texas—its people, places, traditions, and hospitality. Since 1977, our restaurants have been built around honest cooking, genuine connection, and the belief that every guest should feel welcomed and well cared for.

The Role

The Vegetable Prep team member prepares and portions fresh vegetables and other ingredients at the Commissary with consistency, care, and disciplined food-safety practices so our restaurants and events are ready for service.

What You’ll Do

  • Follow production sheets, recipes, prep lists, yields, portions, and daily priorities accurately.
  • Wash, peel, trim, cut, portion, mix, label, cool, store, and rotate vegetables and ingredients safely.
  • Prepare vegetables to established cuts, specifications, and quality standards for Goode Company restaurants and events.
  • Set up and maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked workstation and production area.
  • Monitor product quality and communicate shortages, waste, or specification concerns to the Commissary leadership team.
  • Use knives, smallware, scales, slicers, and other commercial equipment safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Bring

  • Professional kitchen, commissary, food-production, or relevant preparation experience is preferred.
  • Ability to follow written recipes, production instructions, and verbal direction with consistent accuracy.
  • Knife skills, sanitation awareness, organization, urgency, dependability, and teamwork.
  • Food Handler Certification

Physical & Schedule Requirements

  • Stand and move for extended periods in a fast-paced commissary and food-production environment.
  • Frequently bend, reach, grip, push, pull, and perform repetitive food-preparation motions.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance when needed.
  • Safely work around sharp tools, wet floors, cold storage, refrigerated ingredients, and commercial equipment.
  • Maintain availability for a varied schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Benefits & Perks

  • Weekly payroll.
  • Team member food and dining discounts.
  • Access to wellness resources and support services.
  • Part-time medical membership with preventive and diagnostic coverage during the first year, subject to plan terms and eligibility.
