Your Role

Roadwest Transport is seeking an experienced and skilled Vehicle Body Builder to join our team on a full-time basis.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship while ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with Roadwest Transport's standards and industry requirements.

Core responsibilities.

1. **Blueprint readings:**Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to plan the layout of a project.
2. **Material preparation:**Measure, mark, cut and shape raw metal stock (e.g. sheet metal, structural steel) using shears, saw, flame, or grinder.
3. Welding & Assembly: Join and Fuse metal components using techniques like Mig, Tig (Must be able to do Aluminum Welding Co2.)
4. **Quality control:**Inspect and test finished components for structural integrity, accuracy, and smooth edges using measuring instruments.
5. Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a safe, clean workspace and strictly adhere to workplace health and safety regulations and procedures.
6. Must be able to work independently.
7. Additional Saturday hours might be required if and when production requires.

Application Requirements

1. Must be Australian citizen or have full working rights in Australia. – No Visa candidates will be considered.
2. **Trade qualification:**Completion of an apprenticeship (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade in Australia)  Must be a qualified Vehicle body builder.
3. **Technical Knowledge:**Ability to calculate dimensions and sound understanding of how different materials respond to heat when welding.
