The role also involves coordinating with internal engineering teams, project managers and external stakeholders, including LTA and SBST, to support successful project delivery and system handover.

Job responsibilities

Subcontractor & Vendor Supervision

  • Oversee System Integrators and subcontractors in system design, configuration, installation and integration.
  • Review technical deliverables, including network architecture, capacity calculations and equipment layout drawings.
  • Supervise site installations to ensure compliance with approved designs, wiring diagrams and railway safety requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to project specifications and technical requirements.

IT Infrastructure & Hardware Compliance

  • Verify edge data processing functions, including FFT filtering and automated data organisation by Train ID and timestamp.
  • Monitor network connectivity, system integration and data transmission reliability.

Cybersecurity & Network Resilience

  • Verify network security configurations, including unidirectional hardware data diodes and zero-inbound security policies.
  • Coordinate and review Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (TVRA) activities to support compliance with IEC 62443 and applicable LTA requirements.
  • Verify data buffering, store-and-forward mechanisms and recovery procedures to minimise data loss during network interruptions.
  • Review firewall, VPN and network security configurations to ensure system integrity and resilience.

Testing, Commissioning & System Acceptance

  • Lead and witness Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) to verify system functionality and compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop test plans, review vendor test reports and validate system performance against defined technical specifications and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting, defect resolution and retesting activities.
  • Verify manual USB data transfer procedures, encrypted log handling and data integration into centralised storage systems.
  • Support system acceptance, documentation and handover to customers.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with design engineers, project managers and project team members to provide updates on assigned work and resolve technical issues.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including LTA, SBST, System Integrators and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate joint inspections, technical discussions, project reviews and system handover activities.
  • Provide technical updates and documentation to support project progress and decision-making.

Ad-hoc Project Support

  • Provide technical and operational support for other project-related activities as assigned by the Project Manager or Commissioning Manager.
