Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections, including pre-MOT checks, to identify issues and ensure compliance with MOT testing standards.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including brakes, engines, suspension, and electrical components.
• Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and other specialized machinery safely and efficiently.
• Assemble or replace parts as needed, ensuring proper fitment and function according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including parts used and repairs completed.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance schedules and perform heavy lifting tasks safely during repairs or parts replacement.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
• Experience with vehicle maintenance, repairs, and equipment repair processes.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy lifting and equipment handling.
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and working in various environmental conditions.
