Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new vendors for raw materials, components, fabrication, machining, sheet metal, packaging and other manufacturing requirements.
• Develop and maintain a strong vendor base as per company requirements.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and manufacturers.
• Obtain and compare quotations from different vendors.
• Negotiate price, quality, payment terms, delivery schedules and other commercial terms.
• Coordinate with vendors for samples, development, costing and trial requirements.
• Follow up with vendors for timely supply and delivery of materials.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Quality, Stores and other departments for vendor-related requirements.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities, quality standards, pricing and delivery performance.
• Monitor and maintain vendor performance records.
• Resolve vendor-related issues regarding quality, delivery, pricing and material availability.
• Develop alternate vendors to ensure uninterrupted supply and cost competitiveness.
• Maintain vendor database, quotations, comparative statements and other procurement-related records.
• Prepare regular reports related to vendor development and sourcing activities.

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Vendor Development / Purchase / Procurement / Sourcing in a manufacturing industry.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing vendors and local supplier markets.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of quotation comparison and vendor evaluation.
• Good follow-up and coordination skills.
• Ability to identify cost-effective suppliers and develop long-term vendor relationships.

Qualification

Graduate / Diploma / Degree in any relevant discipline.
