What they need
Woods & Co Recruitment are excited to team up with a leading luxury hospitality property in Melbourne, known for its exceptional guest experience, sustainability focus, strong sense of community and destination-led food and beverage offering.
At the heart of the operation are two distinct venues — a hatted restaurant delivering breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a design-led cocktail bar and lounge built around atmosphere, music, activations, events and the energy of Melbourne.
If you're wanting to be part of a property that is doing things differently and you're ready to step into a bigger leadership opportunity, this is your chance to make a visible impact across two high-profile hospitality venues.
This is not a back-office role.
The successful candidate will be highly visible on the floor, setting the tone, reading the room, engaging with guests, energising the team and owning the day-to-day operation.
What’s in it for you?
- $120,000 + Super
- Lead two high-profile venues within a luxury Melbourne property - a hatted restaurant and design-led cocktail bar
- Join a new luxury hospitality property backed by a globally recognised lifestyle brand.
- Shape the venue culture, guest experience and team, with the autonomy to bring new ideas and activations to life.
- Work closely with the Venues Sales Manager, Marketing Manager and wider F&B team, with a strong focus on commercial growth.
- Be part of a young, energetic team within a business genuinely focused on sustainability, wellbeing, nature and community.
What do you do?
- Lead the day-to-day operation across both venues, ensuring consistently high standards across service, presentation and guest experience.
- Lead from the front, setting the energy and culture on the floor, reading the room and creating an atmosphere guests want to return to.
- Build and develop a high-performing team through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, training and strong operational processes.
- Build strong guest relationships and regulars, driving repeat business, upselling and external customer visitation.
- Own the operational fundamentals, including rostering, labour, ordering, stock control and operating costs.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing and the Executive Chef to bring group bookings, events, activations and commercial opportunities to life.
- Oversee service across all trading periods, including lunch, dinner, bar, lounge and late-night trade
- Bring new ideas and initiatives to the operation, continually looking for ways to improve the guest experience, team culture and commercial performance.
What do you need?
- Previous experience as a Venue Manager, Restaurant Manager, Bar Manager or similar, ideally within a high-volume, premium or destination venue.
- A hands-on, floor-focused leadership style with the energy and charisma to lead a team and set the tone of the venue.
- Strong people leadership and guest engagement skills, with a genuine passion for hospitality and building a strong team culture and loyal customer base.
- Commercially minded, with experience across labour, rostering, ordering, stock control and operating costs.
- Strong service standards, attention to detail and the ability to confidently work across restaurant, bar and late-night environments. Events / activations experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach and Australian working rights. The role operates Tuesday–Saturday, predominantly afternoon/evening, and sponsorship is not available.
