Role: Verification & Validation Engineer

Location: Saitama, Japan

Industry: Commercial Vehicles / Automotive

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct acceptance testing of embedded control software using HILS (Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation).
• Plan and execute tests to validate the requirements specifications of new features.
• Perform comprehensive evaluations of engine control systems on engine test benches and in vehicles.

Required Experience

• Practical experience in embedded software verification and testing (3+ years preferred).
• Knowledge of engine and aftertreatment control systems, including fuel injection, ignition control, and idle control.
• Experience with verification and testing in a HILS (Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation) environment.
• Understanding of and practical experience with CAN communication and diagnostic protocols such as UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services).
• Understanding of software development processes, including the V-model and Automotive SPICE.

Required Skills

• Ability to read and understand control models (development experience is an advantage).
• Experience using MATLAB/Simulink and an understanding of model-based development.
• Ability to create, review, and execute test specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, report findings, and propose improvements.
• Experience using CAN tools such as Vector CANalyzer and ATI VISION is an advantage.
