Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled VMC Operator with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in operating Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines. The candidate will be responsible for machine setup, component machining, quality inspection, and achieving production targets while maintaining safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate VMC machines as per production requirements and job specifications.
• Set up machines, tools, fixtures, and workpieces accurately.
• Load and unload components and ensure proper clamping.
• Perform milling, drilling, tapping, boring, and other machining operations.
• Read and understand engineering drawings and job dimensions.
• Set and adjust cutting tools, offsets, and machining parameters.
• Check component dimensions using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring instruments.
• Monitor machining operations and ensure required dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Maintain production targets and quality standards.
• Identify tool wear, machine abnormalities, and quality issues and report them to the supervisor.
• Follow standard operating procedures and all safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping of the machine and work area.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a VMC Operator.
• Hands-on experience operating VMC machines.
• Basic knowledge of CNC/VMC machining processes and cutting tools.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.
• Basic understanding of tool offsets and machine settings.
• Good knowledge of shop-floor safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• ITI/Diploma in Machining, CNC/VMC, Fitter, Turner, or a related technical trade preferred.
• Candidates with experience in engineering/manufacturing industries will be preferred.
• Willingness to work in shifts, if required.
• Good discipline, attendance, and commitment to production quality.
