What they need

Part-Time, Seasonal or Temporary veterinary associate(s) needed for a small animal practice between Orlando and Daytona, FL. Pending the candidate's experience and need, a Full-Time position may be available for the right candidate.

We believe in the true “brick and mortar” setting, which includes real mentorship and a unique “family environment” between staff members. Less experienced veterinarians with a strong work ethic that work well with others are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Description
B.E.S.T. VETS Animal Hospital (BVAH) is a small animal practice seeking PT, Seasonal, or Temporary Veterinarian(s) for our quickly growing hospital, in beautiful Sanford, Florida. We are looking for someone with ideally 2+ years experience within the veterinary field prior to veterinary school (i.e. previous veterinary assistant/technician, client service representative, kennel attendant, etc.), is self- motivated, detail oriented and dedicated to providing quality care to our patients with great customer service skills. Applicant is ideally driven and a team player that wants to build a strong and long-term foundation within a veterinary setting that always strives to improve upon their skill set level and at the same time is willing to share their skills and medical talents with other staff members in a positive and fun manner.

At BVAH, we feel that “Quality over Quantity” is what allows us to offer the best medicine and excellent care to our clients and patients. We aim to exceed each pet owner’s expectations, which includes making them part of the BVAH family. Because of this we are looking for a personable, plus highly professional and technically proficient veterinarian to join us in delivering such things on a daily basis.

The associate veterinarian is the “back bone of the entire hospital” for other staff and more importantly for every client and patient. This position assists in setting the “Quality over Quality” tone for the practice, as we build and maintain each owner’s/pet’s trust and confidence in our abilities and services.

Preference to hire someone with small animal surgical, dental, emergency, and/or exotic experience/competency, even if at just a basic skill level; but not a requirement.

Specific Job Requirements of an Associate Veterinarian include, but not limited to:

 Have a good standing DVM License, ideally already in the state of FL.

 The overall purpose of this position is to maintain animal health by diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries in a quality and proficient manner.

 Managing medical records, charts, reports, correspondence/communications, etc.

 To be able to demonstrate a basic surgical desire, knowledge and skill set.

 The ability to practice proficient technique plus medicine and offer empathy/compassion for pets and their owners.

 Providing quality and compassionate medical care to all of our patients, including for medically boarded and hospitalized patients.

 Plus, other routine day-to-day veterinarian tasks, as needed.

 Knowledge of AviMark and being bilingual is a plus, but not a requirement.

Position Includes/Job Benefits:

Pending what type of position hours candidate is looking for, there is potential for paid time off and guaranteed annual fringe benefits to be put towards veterinary career needs/lifestyle (i.e. CE, insurance, medical supplies/equipment, licensure, retirement, etc.). All candidates would be allotted strong veterinary mentorship, quality and technically strong veterinary support staff that can be counted on to assist in veterinarian’s needs to provide sound medical services, flexible schedule when available, staff feeding program benefits, discounted boarding of pets pending availability, professional discounts & family discounts for veterinary medical care and services, plus BVAH strives to offer a good “work-life balance” and promotes a healthy and fun “family-like” working environment.

Our team consists of highly talented and compassionate veterinary professionals. We offer various services, including routine preventative care, internal medicine, surgeries, dentistry and emergency/critical care services. Our large and modern facility includes digital radiology, dental radiology, in hospital ultrasound, laser surgery, cold laser therapy, etc. We also have a close working relationship with several nearby veterinary specialty hospitals, a local emergency hospital (that has five separate locations), and a traveling ultrasound veterinarian that is boarded in internal medicine and offers full consults, advanced sample retrieval, endoscopy, etc.

Physical/Job Duty Demands:

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, plus stooping and bending to pick up 30 lbs or more. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their essential functions. The information in this position description indicates the general nature and level of work to be performed. It is not designed to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned to this job. Management reserves the right to revise the job description or require that other tasks be performed when the circumstances of the job change (for example, emergencies, change in personnel, workload, or technical development).

Feel free to "Like-us on Facebook" to find out more about our hospital. We look forward to the possibility of adding you to the "BVAH Family”!
