Experienced Veterinary Technician/Assistant – Join Our Dedicated Team

We are a busy, privately owned, 8-doctor small animal practice located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, with a satellite clinic in Washington, PA. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join us. A veterinary technician license is preferred but not required. YOU MUST HAVE OPEN AVAILABILITY.

About the Role

As a key member of our clinical team, you will assist with a variety of medical, surgical, and administrative responsibilities, including:

• Reviewing and accurately entering patient medical records
• Preparing and dispensing medications
• Safely restraining animals for exams and procedures
• Assisting veterinarians during surgeries, including patient prep, anesthesia monitoring, and dental cleanings
• Maintaining detailed anesthesia and surgical records
• Preparing and sterilizing surgical packs
• Collecting and processing samples for diagnostics with minimal patient stress
• Performing in-house lab tests (radiographs, CBCs, blood chemistries, urinalysis, 4DX, FELV/FIV, cultures, etc.)
• Providing inpatient care, including administering treatments, IV fluids, medications, and nutrition
• Educating clients on home care, medication use, and post-procedure instructions
• Managing patient information, scheduling, and communication using practice management software
• Preparing and submitting samples to external laboratories
• Maintaining clean, stocked exam and treatment areas
• Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment
• Assisting at the front desk as needed, including greeting clients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and ensuring a welcoming, professional client experience

Who We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant required
• Proficient in patient restraint, lab work, and surgical assistance
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Compassionate, professional, and dependable
• Comfortable using veterinary software (training provided)
• Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred but not required

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
