About our practice
The Veterinarian Pet Alliance is a small, growing private practice serving dogs and cats throughout Newark, Northern New Jersey, and nearby New York City communities.
We prioritize patient care, client care, and employee well-being over corporate-style production pressure. Our close-knit team maintains a friendly, upbeat environment with manageable caseloads, direct veterinarian mentorship, and opportunities to grow as the practice expands.

- Safely and compassionately handle and restrain dogs and cats
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples
- Run in-house laboratory testing and prepare diagnostic samples

- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures
- Monitor patients during post-surgical recovery
- Recognize changes in a patient’s condition and promptly alert the veterinarian
- Support wellness, preventive-care, and sick-patient appointments
- Maintain clear and accurate patient records
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members
We are specifically seeking one or two candidates with anesthesia-monitoring experience. This advanced skill is strongly preferred but is not required for every applicant.
Additional experience with IV catheter placement, diagnostic radiography, dental radiography, dentistry, ultrasound workflows, or medication administration is highly valued.

Our clinical resources include:
- Full-table X-ray equipment
- Veterinary ultrasound
- Dental X-ray equipment
- Anesthesia machines
- Dental surgery equipment
- IDEXX and Antech diagnostic support

Previous experience with Digitail is not required.
Qualifications
- At least two years of paid, hands-on experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital
- English plus conversational Spanish or Portuguese for routine client communication
- Demonstrated proficiency in animal restraint, blood collection, in-house laboratory work, surgical assistance, and post-operative monitoring
