Veterinary Assistant and Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team in our brand new state of the art facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and a desire to support veterinary professionals in providing high-quality medical care to pets. This role involves assisting with various tasks in a veterinary clinic, ensuring the well-being of animals, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. We are looking to team members that was to practice "best practice" for our clients and patients

Duties

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures.
• Provide animal restraint to ensure safety for both the animals and staff during treatments.
• Administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using veterinary terminology.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
• Care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the clinic, including exam rooms, kennels, and equipment.
• Provide front desk support as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing client communications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is a must.
• Knowledge of animal husbandry, physiology, anatomy, and critical care practices.
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medication administration protocols.
• Experience with animal handling techniques, including dog handling and feline experience is needed.
• Ability to perform aseptic techniques and understand laboratory procedures.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
