Duties

• Assist with animal handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safe and stress-free procedures for pets during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
• Prepare animals for procedures by performing animal husbandry tasks, including cleaning, feeding, and maintaining proper bedding and enclosure conditions
• Support veterinary technicians with clinical tasks such as IV insertions, catheterizations, medication administration, and aseptic techniques during surgeries or laboratory work
• Maintain accurate record keeping of patient histories, treatments, medications, and laboratory results to ensure seamless communication across the team
• Provide exceptional pet care by monitoring animal welfare, observing behavior changes, and assisting with feeding and grooming routines
• Support front desk operations by communicating effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, appointment scheduling, and follow-up needs
• Assist with laboratory procedures including sample collection, sample processing, and basic diagnostic testing under supervision

Skills

• Proven kennel experience combined with veterinary technician or assistant experience to handle diverse animal species confidently
• Strong veterinary terminology knowledge paired with animal anatomy and physiology understanding to support clinical procedures accurately
• Experience in veterinary critical care settings is highly desirable for handling urgent cases efficiently
• Skilled in animal restraint techniques for dogs, cats, equines or other species to ensure safety during examinations or treatments
• Proficient in medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic techniques to uphold safety standards
• Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners about animal health needs and foster trustful relationships
• Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently while adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols to maintain a sterile environment
• Laboratory experience including sample collection and processing adds value to the role’s technical scope
• Knowledge of animal behavior helps in managing animals calmly during procedures and enhances overall welfare efforts
• Prior veterinary clinic experience is preferred for a smooth transition into our team’s workflow

Pay: $17.50 - $23.50 per hour
