Veterinary Assistant

VCA Hillsboro Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced full-time Veterinary Assistant to join the team at our AAHA-accredited 4-doctor practice in Coconut Creek.

Schedule: Full-time, must include a weekend rotation

Clinic Hours: Monday -Friday 7:30 am - 7 pm, Saturday 8 am - 4 pm, closed Sunday

Salary: $16 - $19, based on skill set and experience.

About the Role

As a Veterinary Technician, you will help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and clients. Duties will include:

• Compassionate patient care
• Client education and care
• Venipuncture and catheter placement
• Radiology and diagnostics
• Lab sample collection and processing
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Dentistry
• Medication preparation and administration
• Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
• Medical recordkeeping
