Veterinary Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist in providing high-quality veterinary services in a faced pace environment. Experience is preferred, but not necessary, we are willing to train the right candidate. Must be willing to learn and adjust with constructive criticism. Working well with others is a must. Pay depends on experience and licenses.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures

• Perform animal catheterization and laboratory tests

• Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian

• Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress

• Provide support in dental cleanings, radiography, and anesthesia monitoring

• Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a clean and safe environment for animals

• Assist with pet grooming including bathing, shaving, and nail trimming

• Monitor animal physiology and behavior before, during, and after procedures

• Maintain cleanliness in kennel areas and ensure proper animal husbandry practices

• Provide excellent customer service to pet owners

• Handle animals with care and compassion, ensuring their well-being at all times

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills with pet owners and team members
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new skills and stay updated on industry advancements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45.0 per week
