Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic veterinary team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting with medical procedures, caring for animals, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic.

Duties

• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
• Handle animals safely and humanely, including animal restraint when needed for treatment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning of kennels, treatment areas, and surgical instruments in compliance with sanitation standards.
• Support animal husbandry activities such as feeding, bathing, and grooming.
• Administer medications under supervision while adhering to veterinary protocols and safety guidelines.
• Record keeping of patient information, treatment plans, medication administration, and procedural documentation with accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, post-operative care, and general inquiries to promote animal welfare.

Requirements

• Prior veterinary clinic experience is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a team approach is crucial.
• Ability to handle dogs and cats confidently and manage various animals using appropriate restraint techniques.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
