Veterinary Assistant

Department: Clinical Support
Reports To: Veterinary Technician / Medical Director / Nominated Veterinary Surgeon
Experience: 1–2 Years of Clinical Experience
Qualification: 12th Grade (HSC) or Equivalent
Age Criteria: Up to 35 Years
Gender: Male / Female
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Working Days: Monday to Saturday
Interview Process: 3 Rounds

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary doctors and surgeons during consultations, treatments and procedures.
• Prepare the operating theatre, instruments, equipment and required materials before surgeries.
• Assist the veterinary team during surgical procedures as instructed.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Prepare animals/patients for surgery and assist with pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Assist with administration of medicines and treatments under the direction of the veterinary surgeon/authorized clinical professional.
• Maintain proper records of medicines, procedures, treatments and patient observations.
• Monitor patients before and after procedures and promptly report any abnormalities to the veterinary team.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and infection-control standards in the clinical and operating areas.
• Ensure required medicines, consumables and clinical supplies are available and properly stored.
• Assist with routine wound care, dressing and other clinical support activities as directed.
• Follow all clinical, safety and hygiene protocols.
• Support emergency and night-shift clinical requirements when assigned.

Required Skills

• 1–2 years of relevant clinical experience in a veterinary clinic/hospital.
• Practical experience in operating theatre (OT) handling and preparation.
• Knowledge of pre-operative and post-operative procedures.
• Knowledge of medicines and their safe handling/storage.
• Ability to assist during surgical procedures.
• Basic understanding of animal handling and restraint.
• Knowledge of cleaning, sterilization and infection-control procedures.
• Good observation and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from veterinary surgeons and technicians.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a clinical environment.
• Willingness to work night shifts when required.
• Knowledge of Hindi and Marathi required.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
