Duties

• Assist with animal restraint, handling, and behavior management to ensure safe and stress-free examinations and procedures
• Support veterinary technicians during surgeries, diagnostics, and treatments by preparing equipment and assisting with medication administration
• Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and maintaining proper record keeping of patient information
• Handle front desk responsibilities such as greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records with accuracy and professionalism
• Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring animals post-procedure or during recovery, including IV insertion and catheterization when trained
• Maintain a clean and sanitized clinic environment by disinfecting kennels, surgical areas, and treatment rooms in accordance with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) protocols
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, medication schedules, and general animal welfare concerns

Skills

• Experience working in a kennel or veterinary clinic environment with animal handling expertise
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic medical procedures such as medication administration and IV insertion
• Strong skills in animal restraint, behavior assessment, and pet care across various species including dogs, cats, and equines
• Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently while adhering to safety standards using PPE
• Excellent record keeping skills for documenting treatments, medications, and patient histories accurately
• Effective client communication skills to educate pet owners on animal welfare and health needs
• Prior experience with surgery support, catheterization procedures, or critical care is highly desirable

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
