Veterinary Assistant

We are an AAHA-accredited animal hospital under new management seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team! Our hospital is committed to providing high-quality care and medicine, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a positive, supportive work environment.

About the Role

The Veterinary Assistant will play a key role in both client communication and patient care. This position involves working closely with veterinarians and technicians to gather patient histories, assist with treatments and procedures, and help maintain a clean, efficient, and organized hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain thorough and accurate patient histories from clients
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments
• Safely restrain dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
• Administer injections (IV, IM, SQ) as directed
• Run in-house lab work and assist with digital radiographs
• Maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed
• Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for hospitalized patients
• Educate and communicate effectively with clients regarding basic pet care and treatment plans
• Accurately enter information and manage records in veterinary software (knowledge of Shepherd a plus!)

• Experience preferred, but entry-level candidates and current veterinary technician students are encouraged to apply!

Salary is commensurate with experience, and we offer opportunities for growth within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
