Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians in providing high-quality care to animals. This role involves assisting with daily clinic operations, animal handling, surgical and dental procedure monitoring and ensuring a clean and safe environment for both pets and staff. Candidates with prior veterinary clinic experience are highly preferred, as this role requires familiarity with standard procedures and animal care protocols.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries by preparing equipment, monitoring during procedures and restraining animals as needed.
• Provide basic animal care, including feeding, bathing if needed, and administering medications under supervision.
• Handle animals safely and compassionately, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their visit.
• Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by disinfecting kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to uphold health standards.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and processing client payments and next day call backs.
• Monitor animals post-treatment or surgery to ensure proper recovery and report any concerns to the veterinary team.
• Restock supplies regularly to ensure the clinic operates smoothly without interruptions.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is required.
• Familiarity with common veterinary procedures, animal handling techniques, and clinic protocols is required.
• Strong communication skills and a caring attitude towards animals are essential for success in this role.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and dentistry is preferred.

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
