Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing animal restraint.
• Perform animal husbandry duties including feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, and ensuring proper animal comfort and safety.
• Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and exotics with confidence using appropriate animal handling and restraint techniques.
• Administer medications and injections following veterinary protocols while utilizing proper PPE to ensure safety for animals and staff.
• Support record keeping by accurately documenting treatments, medication administration, patient histories, and procedural details using veterinary terminology.
• Conduct thorough cleaning of kennels, treatment rooms, and equipment to maintain an environment aligned with aseptic techniques.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs to foster trust and clarity.

Experience

• Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal handling skills are highly valued but not necessary.
• Experience as a veterinary technician or in veterinary critical care enhances your ability to excel in this role.
• Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations including front desk duties such as client communication and appointment scheduling is preferred.
• Knowledge of exotics handling or experience working with exotics is a plus but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform medication administration and use veterinary terminology accurately.
• Strong understanding of animal behavior, anatomy, physiology, and welfare principles ensures compassionate care delivery.
• Prior experience with record keeping systems and aseptic techniques supports efficient clinic workflows.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
