Duties

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during exams, surgeries, and treatments by preparing equipment and providing animal restraint.
• Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, horses, and small mammals with confidence in animal handling techniques.
• Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and maintaining a safe and sanitary clinic environment.
• Support clinical procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, catheterization, and record keeping of patient data.
• Manage front desk responsibilities such as client communication, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety for staff and animals alike.
• Contribute to animal welfare by monitoring behavior, assisting with pet care routines, and supporting recovery processes post-surgery.

Requirements

• Prior kennel or veterinary clinic experience is highly preferred; strong animal handling skills are essential.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior is required to support clinical tasks effectively.
• Experience with surgery support, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and record keeping is advantageous.
• Ability to handle animals safely using restraint techniques while demonstrating compassion and patience.
• Familiarity with front desk operations including client communication and appointment management is a plus.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse caseload involving multiple species.
• Commitment to animal welfare standards and safety protocols; ability to work collaboratively within a team dedicated to exceptional pet care.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
