Veterinary Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Tech to join our veterinary team. This role involves assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for both pets and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, surgeries, and procedures such as IV insertions and catheterizations.
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during exams or procedures.
• Provide compassionate pet care including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring behavior.
• Support record keeping by accurately documenting medical histories, treatments, medication administration, and other clinic activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by disinfecting cages, surgical areas, and equipment.
• Manage kennel duties including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals’ welfare to promote optimal health and comfort.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, appointment scheduling, and answering general questions about animal health.

Pay: From $10.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 – 40.0 per week
