Duties

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures using proper restraint techniques.
• Support animal husbandry activities including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and monitoring animal health status.
• Administer medications and injections following veterinary instructions while maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Handle various animals confidently, including dogs, cats, and pocket pets, ensuring their safety and comfort during visits.
• Maintain accurate records of treatments, medication administration, and laboratory tests in compliance with clinic protocols.
• Assist with laboratory work such as sample collection, processing tests, and recording results to aid diagnosis and treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience working in veterinary clinics is highly valued but not necessary
• Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, restraint techniques, and veterinary terminology.
• Experience with medication administration, catheterization, aseptic technique, and laboratory procedures.
• Familiarity with pet care practices including pet grooming, feeding routines, and basic first aid.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals safely and standing for extended periods.

Pay: From $13.50 per hour
